Description

The overall objective of this job is to pioneer the sustainable growth of the Sacco membership by coming up with growth and retention strategies and managing the sales initiatives. The job holder is also responsible for planning and meeting sales annual targets in membership and saving targets of the Sacco through the use of sales team, branch and satellite network.

Responsibilities

Membership Recruitment and Retention

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit new members in line with the SACCO’s strategic business plan.
  • Implement initiatives to retain existing members and reduce attrition to acceptable levels.
  • Generate quality sales leads for the sales team.
  • Maintain updated records of government staffing by district and department to support targeted recruitment.

 Sales Team Management

  • Motivate and manage the sales team to achieve individual and collective performance targets.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide recommendations to management.
  • Identify and communicate training needs to the Human Resources Department.

Deposit Mobilization and Loan Growth

  • Lead efforts to mobilize deposits
  • grow the loan book in line with set targets.
  • Design and implement targeted promotional campaigns hand in hand with the marketing department to increase product uptake and financial participation
  • Manage and support door-to-door selling campaigns

Market Intelligence

  • Collect and maintain detailed member segmentation data (e.g., age, gender, department, qualification).
  • Conduct annual engagement meetings with institutional heads to gather feedback and identify opportunities for collaboration and service improvement.

People Management

  • Making sure that all subordinates have their job descriptions, Performance contracts in time and appraisals done accordingly.
  • Initiating recruitment by providing vacancies to human resources department.
  • Leave days planning for team and self.

Reporting and Accountability

  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on membership statistics, deposit mobilization, and sales performance by branch.
  • Analyze sales data to generate actionable insights and support decision-making at the executive level.
  • Monitor progress against strategic targets and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business-related field. Those with a master’s degree have an added advantage.
  • 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport with company’s market stakeholder: press, government department leaders.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Training and facilitation skills.
  • Have a strong desire, passion and enthusiasm to drive high levels of performance
